Common Questions

What training methods do you use?
I use reward-based, science-informed training focused on building clear communication, confidence, and lasting behaviors. Every dog is unique, so training plans are personalized to meet the needs of both the dog and the owner.
Do you work with all breeds?
Yes! I welcome dogs of all breeds, sizes, and mixes. Every dog learns differently, and I tailor training to fit each dog's personality, learning style, and your family's goals.
What types of training do you offer?
I specialize in puppy foundations, obedience, everyday manners, leash skills, tricks, confidence building, and mild behavior concerns. My goal is to help dogs and their owners build strong communication and lifelong skills through individualized training.
What age should my puppy start training?
Puppies can begin learning as soon as they come home. Early training helps build confidence, establish good habits, and prevent unwanted behaviors before they become lifelong challenges.
Where do training sessions take place?
Training sessions may be held in your home or at an agreed-upon public location, depending on your training goals and the needs of your dog.
How long are training sessions?
Most private training sessions last approximately 60 minutes, allowing plenty of time for instruction, hands-on practice, and answering your questions.
What should I bring to a training session?
Please bring: • Your dog on a standard leash • A flat collar or well-fitted harness • Plenty of small, high-value treats • Your dog's favorite toy • Any training equipment we discussed beforehand
Do you require vaccinations?
Yes. Dogs should be up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations before participating in training to help ensure the safety of all dogs involved.
Do you offer free consultations?
Yes! I offer a complimentary consultation to learn about your goals, answer your questions, and determine which training program is the best fit for you and your dog.
Do you work with aggressive dogs?
I primarily work with puppies, obedience, everyday manners, and mild behavior concerns. If your dog requires more intensive behavior modification beyond my scope of practice, I'll gladly recommend another qualified professional who can best meet your dog's needs.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. This policy helps ensure appointment availability for all clients.
How many sessions will my dog need?
Every dog learns at their own pace. The number of sessions depends on your dog's age, training history, goals, and how consistently you practice between lessons. During your consultation, we'll discuss a training plan that fits your needs.
Will my dog be fully trained after one session?
Training is a process, not a one-time event. While many owners notice progress after the first session, lasting results come from consistent practice, clear communication, and ongoing reinforcement at home.
